Wear it alone with a total-black look to add texture without breaking the line, or use it as a counterpoint to white, red, blue or orange. The more bracelets you add, the more black changes role: from focal point to structure within the mix.
A dark base makes every line of the beadwork read with particular clarity. Here, black adds depth and a graphic strength that works equally well as a single gesture or as the starting point for a more colourful mix.
It is made in Kenya by Maasai women artisans who join glass beads by hand. Beadwork is part of the community’s ornamental language and appears in forms of adornment worn by women, men and children.
